AB  481 MILITARY EQUIPMENT ANNUAL REPORT 2023

 

Pursuant to the provisions of AB 481, the City of Gonzales adopted Ordinance 2022-131 “Approving Gonzales Police Department Policy Manual Policy 709- Military Equipment” on June 20, 2022.  Policy 709 identifies all military equipment possessed and subject to use by the Gonzales Police Department and provides details on related training and costs. In accordance with Government Code Section 7072, the Gonzales Police Department is required to submit an annual military equipment report concerning all equipment identified in its Military Equipment Policy (and any amendments thereto) to the City Council and make the Annual Report available for public review by posting on the City’s website. The Department submitted its Annual Report and the same was accepted by the City Council on June 20, 2023, and a copy of the Report is available by clicking here. The City is also required to conduct an engagement meeting with the public to discuss and respond to questions concerning the Annual Report and the Department’s findings on the possession, acquisition or use of military equipment.
